HISTORY OF THE CROWS
I, Bobby, was raised as a Baptist. At the age of 18 I surrendered my life to preach the Gospel. By the age of 20 I started pastoring a Baptist church. I pastored two Baptist churches and after receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit I left the Baptists and joined with others that were Spirit filled. I worked in street evangelism on the streets of Houston during the Hippy movement.
By the age of 24 I had traveled around the World preaching the Gospel.
Lynn,(who was called to be a missionary at the age of 13), and I were married in 1971 and we helped my brother raise up a church in Garland, TX. After we were married, Lynn and I traveled around the World preaching and teaching the Word. Later we moved to Brownsville, TX where Lynn was from and we helped in a church there. While there in Brownsville we began to go over into Mexico and minister in different churches and help conduct ministers’ conferences. As time past we realized that our hearts were in missions and if we were to continue to work in Mexico we needed to live there.
Ten years later, our second son, John David was born. Our plan was to conduct crusades all across Mexico. However, we had a rule that we would never conduct a crusade without starting a church with the new converts. After checking around we realized that there were not enough people to pastor these new churches.
After prayer we realized we needed to train more people to be pastors. So, in 1978 we started Instituto Biblico Palabra de Vida (Word of Life Bible Institute) with 13 students meeting in our home . It has been going ever since.
In 1979 under the direction of the Lord, we moved to Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico with our two year old son, Jeremy.
In 1979 we started Iglesia Palabra de Vida, (Word of Life Church). Our church continues to grow and our outreaches include: Home cell groups, Women to Women Ministry, Hospital visitation, street evangelism, crusades, our own 24 hour television channel on cable. Also we have many other areas of ministry. We have 15 Mission Churches here in our city and many churches all across Mexico that are under our covering.
Thousands of people have been trained in this Bible school. Many students that went though our school have started churches all across Mexico and even in the United States.
We support ministries in the Philippines, China, Thailand, India, Columbia and other places as the Lord leads. Also included in this webpage you can read about some of the different ministries that World Missions Outreach and the Crows are involved in.
